How to Clean Your Houseplants the Right Way

Dust Regularly

Dust your houseplants with a soft cloth or a gentle brush. Regular dusting keeps leaves clean, allowing them to absorb more light and perform photosynthesis efficiently.

Shower Method

Place small plants in the sink or larger plants in the shower. Use lukewarm water to gently rinse off dust and pests. Ensure the soil is covered to prevent over-watering.

Wipe Leaves

For larger leaves, wipe them individually with a damp cloth. This method is effective for removing dust and grime without damaging delicate leaves.

Use Neem Oil

Mix neem oil with water and a few drops of dish soap. Spray the solution on leaves to clean them and deter pests naturally.

Soft Brush

Use a soft brush or toothbrush to clean hairy leaves. Brushes are gentle enough to remove dust without damaging the plant’s delicate surfaces.

Soap and Water

Mix a mild dish soap with water. Dip a cloth in the solution and gently wipe the leaves to remove dirt and pests. Rinse with clean water afterward.

Leaf Shine

Use a commercial leaf shine product or a homemade solution of water and a few drops of milk to add a natural shine to your plants' leaves.

Clean the Pot

Wipe down the outside of the pot and saucer. Cleaning the pot helps prevent mold and keeps the overall appearance of your houseplants neat.
